Madame Cézanne

Madame Cézanne: her husband’s most important subject.

Image

Marie-Hortense Fiquet became Cézanne’s lawful wife only after 15 years of posing for him, and this show features 24 of his known 29 portraits of her. Together with his oil masterpieces, such as "Madame Cézanne in the Conservatory," there are three vivid watercolors, 14 drawings and three rare, early sketches.
